Purpose
Liberon Spirit Wood Dye is ideal for use on hardwood and for furniture restoration and is a traditional dye which penetrates deep into the wood. It can be mixed together to obtain intermediate shades.
Performance
For colouring dense hardwoods such as mahogany and oak Ideal for colouring previously finished woods i.e. for antique restoration Easy to apply All colours are intermixable Usage : Interior
How to use
Preparation
Ensure the surface is free from existing finishes; wax, oil or grease. Sand thoroughly to a smooth finish and remove the dust.
Application
Shake well before use. Make sure you have sufficient dye to finish the work. If more than one tin is required, mix the contents together in a clean container to ensure uniform colour.
Apply liberally with a brush or clean cotton cloth, remove excess dye immediately with a clean cotton cloth, working with the grain wherever possible. For stronger colour apply a second coat after 4 hours.
When dry, it may be finished with French polish, water-based varnish or lacquer.
Important
Always test product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour, compatibility and end result. Different types of wood produce different results. The colour bar may not be a true representation of the actual colour.
Precautions
Caution must be taken when using oil based finishes over Liberon Spirit Wood Dye. Keep brush strokes to a minimum as over brushing may lift out the colour.
