Hard Wax Oil

Purpose

Liberon Hard Wax Oil is a water-based, quick-drying protective finish for interior wood floors, worktops, furniture, and other wooden surfaces throughout the home. It penetrates the wood to provide a long-lasting, smooth, and durable finish while maintaining the natural look of the grain.

How to Use

Preparation
The wood must be bare, clean, and dry.

• Varnished, painted, or waxed wood: Remove all old varnish, paint, or wax with a stripper or sand back to bare wood. Clean and remove all dust.
• Oiled wood: Sand lightly with 240 grit paper and remove all dust.
• Bare wood: Clean and sand lightly with 240 grit paper and remove all dust.

Application
Stir the contents of the tin well before use. Apply the first coat thinly with a brush or roller and leave to dry for 8 hours. Sand with 240 grit paper and remove all dust. Apply a second coat in the same way and leave to dry for 24 hours. While the product is drying, do not allow any textile fibres to come into contact with it.

Cleaning and Maintenance
The treated surface can be washed with mild detergents. Re-apply as needed when the surface shows signs of wear.

Important
Always test on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour, compatibility, and end result.

Compatibility

For best results, prepare the surface using Liberon Fine Wood Stripper (to remove old varnish) or Liberon Wax and Polish Remover (to remove old wax) before applying Hard Wax Oil. If a coloured finish is desired, apply Liberon Palette Wood Dye to bare wood first, then apply Hard Wax Oil once the dye is fully dry.
